HWIS Science Outing: Exploring and Learning Beyond the Classroom

HWIS students embarked on an exciting science outing, engaging in enriching field learning experiences that extended far beyond the classroom walls. Each grade level participated in activities designed to broaden their knowledge and deepen their understanding of the world around them.

Grade 7 to Grade 9 students visited the Changhua Fukbao Wetland, where they explored the importance of environmental protection. Through a hands-on beach cleanup activity, they not only gained a fresh perspective on ecological conservation but also enhanced their sense of responsibility toward protecting our planet.

Grade 10 and Grade 11 students headed to the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, where they were introduced to cutting-edge scientific research facilities. They learned about the fascinating applications of synchrotron radiation in advancing various scientific fields, offering them a glimpse into the world of modern research and innovation.

Grade 12 students ventured to Chelungpu Fault in Nantou, gaining firsthand insight into earthquake science during an on-site visit. In the afternoon, they explored the historic Jiji Train Station, inspecting its earthquake resilience and touring the charming old streets, connecting geological knowledge with cultural heritage.

HWIS remains committed to providing opportunities for students to learn through real-world experiences, fostering both curiosity and responsibility.
