MUN Debate: Global Health Policies
Grade 8 Human Geography – MUN Debate: Global Health Policies
In this engaging Model United Nations (MUN) debate, students explored global health policies that countries should adopt at the onset of a potential outbreak. Led by Mr. Abdul Steyn, the activity was designed to complement Unit 1: Population and Health, offering students hands-on experience with policy-making and diplomacy. Thirteen countries, including Taiwan, the USA, Japan, and Sweden, were represented as students conducted research, drafted health policies, and practiced public speaking.
This exercise not only deepened their understanding of global health challenges but also strengthened essential skills like negotiation, critical thinking, and leadership. The students thoroughly enjoyed the debate and are eager for future opportunities to engage in similar activities.
